In detail, a low‑pressure system will form over Cyprus, accompanied by a cold and moist air mass that will push temperatures 5–7°C below seasonal averages, reaching levels typically seen in early winter—an unusual occurrence for this time of year.
The system will remain centered west of Cyprus and around the island, with another, more widespread low‑pressure system expected toward the end of the week, likely to bring more extensive rainfall.
Rain chances will increase over Jordan and Palestine toward the end of the week, with scattered showers affecting various regions, including eastern Jordan and extending into eastern Syria.
Atmospheric instability will intensify at the beginning of October as tropical and subtropical moisture from the Arabian Sea begins to shift northward, coinciding with the breakdown of the Indian monsoon circulation.
