Early Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall Expected to Resume with Significant Temperature Drop by Week's End

WASM – WASM is monitoring Jordan being affected by cold polar-origin winds next Thursday accompanied by the formation of a low-pressure system that will be accompanied by heavy precipitation, strong winds, and a significant drop in temperatures.

WASM continues to monitor the expected weather conditions over the Kingdom throughout the weekend on an ongoing basis and the changes that may occur to the weather situation, as a high-pressure system over the southwest of the European continent will lead to the formation of more low-pressure systems over the region during the end of January and the beginning of February accompanied again by large quantities of precipitation.

The speed of eastern winds will decrease tomorrow, Sunday, and temperatures will rise with improved weather accompanied by the appearance of light scattered clouds. Temperature will also increase during the middle of the week before the beginning of the low-pressure system at the end of the week accompanied by cold polar-origin winds.

Jordan was affected by several low-pressure systems in previous days that resulted in large quantities of precipitation, especially in northern and central Jordan, a significant drop in temperatures, snow, and the occurrence of freezing and frost.
