WASM – The region will be affected, God willing, by a strong regional weather system affecting several Arab countries including northern and western Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, the Levant, Iraq, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, and many others, resulting in very large quantities of rainfall expected to be caused by a deep atmospheric low.
Jordan and Palestine|
Jordan and Palestine will be affected by rainy and strong weather conditions starting next Monday and continuing for several days, resulting in very large quantities of rainfall covering various regions including desert areas, the Aqaba region, southern areas, and the Dead Sea region.
Weather is expected to remain cold during the weekend with temperatures staying below seasonal spring averages, with rain showers in northern regions.
Rain showers will fall and weather will be unsettled on Saturday and Sunday in various regions before the onset of the strong rainy weather system.
Saudi Arabia|
Saudi Arabia will be affected by unstable conditions on Thursday and Friday resulting in thunderstorm showers in Hail, Qassim, north of Madinah region, and north of Riyadh region. Thunderstorm showers will sometimes be heavy and cause the formation of floods and flash floods in low-lying areas.
The strong weather system begins next Sunday starting from Tabuk then spreading widely towards Hail, Madinah, Makkah, the northern borders, and Al-Jouf.
The system will move mid-next week towards northern Riyadh region, Hafar Al-Batin, and parts of northern Eastern Province with moderate intensity.
The strong rainy system is expected to cause severe dust storms in the central and eastern regions of Saudi Arabia as a result of strong winds and gusty winds at times.
Iraq|
Iraq will be affected by the strong widespread weather system mid-next week bringing very large quantities of rainfall including the capital Baghdad. The weather system is expected to cause high risks in some northern and eastern regions of the country requiring the utmost vigilance and caution.
Egypt|
The strong weather system will impact northeastern and northern Egypt early next week bringing heavy thunderstorm showers at times along with active winds and rough sea conditions.
