Heavy rainfall and flash‑flood risks in northwest Syria, Lebanon, and parts of Iraq

WASM- The eastern Mediterranean, the northwest Levant, parts of Iraq, and northern Saudi Arabia are affected by a semi‑winter, early‑season low‑pressure system compared to this time of year, leading to unstable weather and rainfall.

Heavy rain will fall over northwest Syria and Lebanon with flash‑flood risks from Thursday through Saturday, accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures. These rains will extend into parts of Palestine as scattered showers.

Thunderstorm rain showers are expected over parts of Al‑Jawf and the Northern Borders region of Saudi Arabia tomorrow, Friday—especially during the evening and night.

Rain will also extend into parts of Iraq, becoming heavy in some western and northern areas, especially tomorrow, Friday.

The low‑pressure system will weaken at the beginning of next week, but weather instability will continue in parts of Iraq, Syria, and northern and western Saudi Arabia. This comes ahead of a widespread, intense regional rain event that is expected to begin late next week in some areas and expand thereafter.
