WASM - Temperatures will rise significantly tomorrow, Friday, and exceed 35 degrees Celsius in Amman city, with the heat wave intensifying on Saturday as temperatures in Amman reach 40 degrees Celsius.
The strong heat wave is expected to continue throughout the coming week with temperatures reaching the forties in most Jordanian cities.
Very hot and dry easterly winds are expected to blow directly from the Arabian Peninsula region, bringing light dust and pollution toward Jordanian cities, which increases the exhausting feeling of the atmosphere, especially for respiratory patients and those with asthma.
WASM recommends avoiding direct sunlight, wearing light-colored clothes, running air conditioning units at temperatures not exceeding 23-24 degrees Celsius, increasing consumption of cold beverages, and eating fruits and vegetables.
Medium and high clouds are expected to increase later during the coming week with the strong heat wave continuing over Jordan.
