WASM – The Kingdom is being affected by a new and early autumn wave leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures to become below seasonal averages by approximately 4-6 degrees Celsius, starting from Monday evening and for several days. It is worth noting that the Kingdom experienced a very early recession of the summer season, which is a rare climate event and may be a result of climate change.
Monday.. Beginning of gradual temperature decrease|
Temperatures will begin to decrease gradually during Monday and this decrease will intensify during the evening and night periods, with the autumn wave's effect intensifying during the middle and end of the week.
Chances of limited light rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday|
There is a possibility of limited light rainfall during Tuesday and Wednesday, with these precipitations being more pronounced toward the north and northeast of the Kingdom, as well as parts of northern Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, as a result of the eastern Mediterranean region being affected by a weak and early atmospheric low pressure system.
No signs of any significant temperature rises|
It appears that hot air masses are continuously moving away from the regions of northern Saudi Arabia and Iraq, which weakens the chances of the eastern Mediterranean being affected by any notable hot conditions during the coming period. At the same time, this coincides with the presence of a strong and stable high pressure system over central Europe despite the beginning of autumn.
The data from WASM Regional Climate Center's model indicates increased chances of atmospheric disturbances during the last week of the current month and higher chances of rainfall, with details to be released progressively.
