WASM- The polar wave will continue during the coming days and the Kingdom will be affected by a new atmospheric low from Wednesday morning until Thursday daytime, with rain falling across various regions, sometimes heavy. Snow will also fall on the Kingdom's high mountains exceeding 1000 meters above sea level during Wednesday daytime.
In detail, a freezing wave renews tonight and Tuesday morning with temperatures dropping below zero Celsius. Temperatures will rise slightly during Tuesday/Wednesday night but remain around zero Celsius. Gradually, precipitation will begin to fall from Wednesday dawn on the northern regions, extending toward the center during the morning hours in the form of snow above 1100 meters above sea level, declining gradually to 1000 meters during the afternoon, then 900 meters during Wednesday evening and night. Snow accumulations will be generally light, best on the peaks of the north and south, with strong wind gusts expected exceeding 70 km/hour.
The atmospheric low will continue until Thursday midday with scattered precipitation expected to continue on the western regions of the Kingdom. Weather will then stabilize after Thursday afternoon with freezing and frost occurring and temperatures dropping below zero Celsius. Weather will remain extremely cold during Friday and Saturday with an expected stronger polar wave renewal during the coming week for extended periods accompanied by heavy precipitation and dense snow on high mountainous regions.
The Kingdom was affected by a strong atmospheric low during previous days resulting in heavy rains, floods, torrents, and snow on high mountains as well as freezing and frost waves. January rainfall rates were achieved in many regions, with approximately 70% of the rainy season achieved in the highlands of western Amman and Salt, contrary to what was reported at the beginning of the rainy season about a "severe" drought wave and prolonged rainfall suppressions widely spread on media outlets, which caused losses to many sectors. WASM possesses the only advanced climate model of its kind in the Arab region, which predicted heavy rain waves and strong polar waves on the Kingdom during this month, and this is indeed what has materialized on the ground by God's will.
