Jordan | A slight rise in temperatures for a short period, followed by a rapid return to moderate weather

Temperatures rise slightly on Wednesday and Thursday with typical summer conditions to slightly warmer than usual, especially in eastern central regions, the eastern badiah, and the Jordan Valley areas. The capital and surrounding mountains will record a high around 31°C with a low reaching 21°C, with clear moderation in weather conditions most of the time and hot conditions felt during the afternoon period.

Gradual temperature drop on Friday..
Moderate conditions return quickly, with temperatures dropping again below seasonal averages and the atmosphere becoming generally moderate especially in the mountains and slightly cold during the night and early morning with increased humidity especially during night and early morning hours.

No heat waves on the horizon..
No heat waves are expected in the near and medium term, as heat waves are concentrated far toward central and eastern Europe and the central and western Mediterranean region. This indicates generally moderate weather with expectations of occasional isolated hot days interspersed and increased chances of mild air masses.

Strong heat waves toward Europe contribute to pushing moderately warm winds toward the Kingdom and the eastern Mediterranean region. The hot periods that occurred during previous periods have no relation to summer heat in general. It is worth noting that much more intense heat periods occurred during 2019 and 2020, concentrated in May and June as well as August, and these heat waves in those years were stronger and longer in duration.

Climate change has caused an increase in rainfall rates in Jordan and neighboring countries by approximately 40-60% and an increase in temperature rates in the region.

Strong and severe heat waves toward Europe..
The onset and gradual diversion of heat waves toward wide areas of Europe begins next week and increases during early July, continuing for several weeks. These strong heat waves dominate the western and central Mediterranean and wide areas of Europe, especially the central parts including Germany and its surroundings up to Scandinavian regions.

These heat waves increase in strength and extent starting from mid-July through the first half of August and extend to the western regions of Europe, with temperatures expected to reach forty-degree levels concurrent with high humidity.

What will intensify these heat waves is the presence of atmospheric lows toward the eastern Atlantic Ocean and far northwest Europe, which will increase the push of hot air from the African continent toward Europe.

The result of these strong heat waves toward Europe is a drop in temperatures in the eastern Mediterranean and Jordan regions below seasonal averages during some periods, which is opposite to what occurred during the previous period.

Weather fluctuations occurring in various countries worldwide are not only about heat waves or rising temperatures, but rather significant temperature variations and intensification of storms striking various countries of the world, which also increase the occurrence of floods and torrents and even rare summer cold waves in many regions of the world as well as hurricanes.
