WASM – Weather will stabilize and become beautifully warm throughout this week with temperatures rising to around 20 degrees Celsius in Amman, following a strong atmospheric depression that Jordan experienced, which caused heavy rainfall across all regions, including desert areas, resulting in strong floods and the death of 4 people, may God have mercy on them.
A "deep" atmospheric high pressure system is controlling Jordan, bringing stable conditions and the appearance of light and sometimes high clouds. However, these conditions are not expected to last long as sharp weather fluctuations are forecast to occur during the end of the week and will intensify to become "strong" after mid-month.
Weather will remain stable until Thursday, but weather fluctuations will begin sharply on Friday and will intensify after mid-month as a result of expected successive atmospheric depressions accompanied by cold polar-origin winds, which increases the chances of heavy precipitation across various regions.
Warm and stable weather conditions during the winter season are considered "normal" and not rare, as this is due to the cyclical nature of the atmosphere, which is referred to as "Rossby waves." These are waves resulting from a process of air transfer from warm areas to the far north and sometimes the North Pole, and the transfer of cold air to subtropical regions and mid-latitudes, which maintain thermal balance on Earth. These waves continue at a rate of 10 days, as they sometimes increase and decrease at other times, and are classified by global weather factors—that is, they occur on a large scale affecting wide areas at the same time. The width of these waves sometimes reaches 4,000-6,000 km, and their length sometimes reaches over 5,000-6,000 km. These conditions should not be described as a "rainfall break" because they are normal conditions that occur in various regions. These waves were strong this season, causing heat waves and strong snowstorms at the same time across various parts of the world. With the continuation of global warming, it is expected that these waves will increase in strength and impact, resulting in more extreme weather conditions in the coming years.
Warm conditions are expected to continue for only 5-6 days, with weather becoming sharply unstable at the end of the new week and strong atmospheric depressions activating again.
