Jordan | Alert for Rising Temperatures Starting Wednesday Through Early Next Week

WASM – Temperatures will rise noticeably starting from Wednesday to reach around the mid-30s Celsius in the capital and mountains, as a result of a hot air mass advancing from the Arabian Peninsula region. The hot air mass is concentrated in the eastern desert region and desert and eastern areas of the kingdom and east of the central regions, with its effects being less intense on the western regions of the kingdom.

Temperatures will begin to rise slightly starting from Wednesday, with temperatures in the capital and mountains between 32-35 Celsius, which is slightly above seasonal averages. This rise will increase on Thursday, with temperatures recording around 35 Celsius in various mountainous areas and the capital, but will be higher in the desert and eastern regions of the kingdom, reaching the end of the 30s and beginning of the 40s Celsius.

Hot weather to decline at the beginning and middle of next week..
These hot conditions are not expected to last long, as they will begin to decline at the beginning of next week and gradually recede by the middle of next week, with temperatures approaching seasonal averages gradually.

Humidity levels rising during the end of the week and beginning of next week..
Surface humidity levels will rise in the western regions of the kingdom, but this coincides with a drop in temperatures to the beginning of 30 Celsius in the high mountains. The elevated humidity will create an increased feeling of hot weather despite the expected temperature drop.

WASM recommends monitoring alerts from the Jordanian Meteorological Department and guidance from Civil Defense and Public Security, and paying attention to weather bulletins issued through local media outlets. It also recommends increasing fluid intake and following medical and health instructions during the impact of hot weather on the kingdom.
