WASM – Thunderstorms are increasing today over the northern, central, and eastern regions of Jordan during afternoon hours, reaching their peak during evening and night hours, with thunderstorms producing rain showers and active easterly winds especially during the presence of thunderclouds.
The weather condition continues until hours after midnight, then gradually recedes across all regions and weather stabilizes tomorrow, Monday. It is expected that weather will remain stable throughout this week due to Jordan being affected by a weak extension of an atmospheric high from the north, before the return of rain and cold conditions in the middle of the month.
Heavy precipitation is expected in some limited areas, particularly from the east of the kingdom and mountainous regions in central and northern parts of the country, including the capital Amman and Ajloun.
WASM advises staying away from low-lying areas and water accumulation sites during the expected weather conditions in the coming hours. WASM has issued a yellow alert level for the weather condition.
