Jordan.. Alert of renewed heavy rains on Tuesday/Wednesday night continuing until Thursday evening

WASM - A cold air front crossed this evening Monday and heavy thunderstorms fell in various regions of the Kingdom, especially southern Jordan, Aqaba region, Shobak, Tafilah, and Petra, causing the formation of flash floods, temperature drop, and activity of strong winds. Heavy thunderstorm rainfall is expected to continue until midnight, after which weather conditions will gradually improve.

The severity of weather conditions will ease tomorrow, Tuesday daytime, but southwestern winds will activate and the weather will be partly cloudy with rainfall expected, especially in north and central Jordan. Starting from late night hours of Tuesday/Wednesday, heavy thunderstorms will fall, especially in northern and central Jordan, causing the formation of flash floods and transported floods, and these heavy rains will continue until Thursday evening.

Rainfall is expected to extend toward southern Jordan during the morning and daytime of Wednesday and will be heavy at times, causing the formation of flash floods and transported floods in those areas

In detail, a deep atmospheric low is positioned near the coasts of northern Palestine and southern Lebanon for a long period exceeding 36 hours, causing the advancement of heavy rain clouds toward northern and central Jordan extending to southern regions starting from the night hours of Tuesday/Wednesday.

Weather is expected to stabilize gradually during Thursday evening and night/Friday hours and weather will remain cold and partly cloudy with scattered light rainfall in some areas during the weekend.

WASM is monitoring the renewal of atmospheric lows and heavy rainfall next week, especially during the Christmas holiday period, across various regions.
