Jordan.. Atmospheric Low-Pressure System at Week's End Accompanied by Rain Mixed with Snow

WASM – Jordan will be affected by a weather condition accompanied by heavy precipitation and cold polar-origin winds during the weekend, which begins Thursday and ends Saturday. The weather condition is expected to be accompanied by heavy thundery rainfall, hail, and rain mixed with snow, with snow showers falling over high peaks, especially in northern and central Jordan.

In detail, temperatures will rise on Tuesday and Wednesday with some high and medium clouds appearing. Starting from Thursday, Jordan will be affected by a low-pressure system with scattered rainfall, active winds, and a noticeable and significant drop in temperature.

The weather condition will intensify starting from Friday morning and throughout Friday daytime, with intense cold polar winds rushing toward the Kingdom, causing heavy rainfall, hail, rain mixed with snow, and temporary snow showers on peaks from northern and central parts of the Kingdom extending to the heights of Karak.

The weather condition will continue until Saturday daytime, with weather stabilizing gradually on Saturday evening and the atmosphere remaining generally cold, with temperatures rising later next week.

WASM issues an orange level alert for the weather condition during the weekend due to heavy rainfall mixed with snow showers at times on high peaks, active winds, and cold weather.

Changes around the expected weather condition for the weekend are possible, and WASM will conduct continuous monitoring of weather conditions and any changes that may occur.
