WASM- Temperatures will rise slightly starting Monday and summer weather will return to normal with typical seasonal summer temperatures. It is expected that temperatures in the capital and mountains will reach around 31-32 degrees Celsius during the day and 21-22 degrees Celsius at night with active northwest winds.
The atmosphere will be moderate for most of the time, especially in the mountains, and hot during midday and afternoon periods, especially in low-lying areas, valleys, Aqaba, the Dead Sea, and desert regions.
Starting from the end of the week, moderate temperature winds will move towards the Kingdom, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures below their seasonal averages again as a result of the country being affected by a new moderate summer wave that is expected to last several days. Temperatures are expected to reach twenty-degree levels again during daytime periods.
Heat waves will remain far from the Kingdom's atmosphere during this month, with signs of some hot periods during the third week of August according to WASM Regional Center's climate model data.
New strong heat wave heading towards Europe|
WASM Regional Center is monitoring a new strong heat wave that is expected to affect Europe, starting gradually during the end of the coming week and intensifying during the following week and mid-month. The new heat wave is expected to be characterized by its long duration and its expansion over a very wide range of the European continent, which is rare.
As a result of these climate changes, a decline in rainfall rates and an increase in temperatures have been observed across a wide range of Europe over the last 10 years, which is the opposite of what occurred in Southeast Mediterranean regions, South Levant, western Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, where rainfall rates increased in those areas by 40-60% according to reprocessed data from NOAA Climate Center.
