WASM - The impact of the cold air mass on the Kingdom will increase slightly tonight with a noticeable drop in temperatures, and the atmosphere will gradually become cold in mountainous areas. It is expected that the impact of this cold air mass will intensify starting Wednesday/Thursday night with a continued decrease in temperatures.
This atmospheric condition is expected to coincide with active westerly winds that are sometimes strong, especially in desert areas, stirring up dust and sand in exposed areas during the afternoon period. Low clouds are expected to appear in parts of northern and central regions and in the highlands of southwestern areas.
Maximum temperatures in the capital by the end of the week are expected to reach around 15-17 degrees Celsius, with temperatures dropping during the night to only 6-7 degrees, which necessitates wearing winter clothing.
Rain showers are expected Friday morning in the northern regions of the Kingdom and limited parts of central areas as a result of the deepening of this cold and moist air mass.
The Kingdom was affected today, Tuesday, by a weak "thermal" atmospheric low pressure system which resulted in active winds and the stirring up of dust and sand in limited areas, especially desert regions.
