WASM - Jordan is expected to be affected by cold and rainy weather on Wednesday and Thursday coinciding with occasional wind activity, as a result of a low-pressure system expected to position itself near the coasts of Lebanon accompanied by cold and humid winds rushing from the Mediterranean Sea.
The impact will begin from the north and center starting from Wednesday daytime and then gradually extend to the rest of the regions during the night of Wednesday/Thursday and continue until Thursday evening, after which the weather will stabilize.
As a result of very cold winds rushing from southwestern Siberia, there will be a significant drop in temperatures to below 5 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman and approaching zero Celsius in many cities during the weekend, which will cause frost formation during Friday and Saturday, especially during morning hours. Frost is a dangerous phenomenon for the agricultural sectors and differs from the freezing phenomenon.
Starting from Saturday, easterly winds will intensify and the weather will become significantly colder, clouds will gradually increase and rain will fall in various regions, generally light in nature. WASM is also monitoring further weather fluctuations during the end of December and the beginning of January.
