Dust will recede and temperatures will drop significantly tonight, with minimum temperatures reaching only 6-7 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman and mountainous highlands, necessitating the wearing of winter clothing. Weather will be cold on Wednesday and Thursday with partly cloudy skies and light rain showers in the morning and afternoon of Wednesday.
Cold conditions are expected to continue until Friday morning, and gradually temperatures will begin to rise due to the surge of warm winds from the south coinciding with the persistence of cold air masses in the middle and upper atmospheric layers.
The Kingdom will be affected starting Saturday with unstable weather conditions over scattered and limited areas that will intensify on Sunday, and during the coming week will result in thunderstorms and heavy rains over scattered regions.
The reason for the unstable weather is the surge of a warm air mass from the south coinciding with the presence of remnants of the cold mass expected to affect the Kingdom during the next two days. The cold air is expected to be present only in the middle and upper layers of the atmosphere, causing "atmospheric instability" which results in thunderstorms.
