WASM – The Kingdom will be affected by a low-pressure system and a cold and humid air mass of polar origin pushing through central and northern Europe, with its effects continuing for several days starting from Saturday evening and continuing intermittently until at least the end of this week. This will result in heavy thunderstorms, hail, active winds, low and unseasonable temperatures.
Rain begins Saturday evening|
Thunderstorms will begin Saturday evening but over the northern and central parts of the Kingdom and will be heavy at times and thunderous accompanied by hail showers. Rain is expected to intensify later during the late night of Saturday/Sunday.
Heavy thunderstorms Sunday and Monday|
Rain on Sunday and Monday will be heavy and widespread with thunderstorms occurring, affecting the northern, central, and southwestern parts of the Kingdom. Caution must be exercised regarding the danger of floods in low-lying areas and water accumulation areas.
Cold conditions and scattered rain Tuesday and Wednesday|
The Kingdom will be affected by a cold and humid air mass coinciding with westerly winds, with scattered rain showers falling in different areas of the Kingdom, especially the western part of the country.
Monitoring new weather conditions at week's end and with the beginning of the Holy Month|
As a result of the continuation of the cold and humid air mass dominance, it is expected to cause another cold and rainy weather condition during the end of the week in vast areas of the Kingdom including desert regions.
Continuation of cold and rainy winter conditions during the first half of the Holy Month|
The first half of the Holy Month is expected to be generally cold and rainy at times, with weather conditions approaching cold and rainy winter conditions, while rainy spring conditions with heavy rainfall are expected to continue during the second half of the Holy Month.
The cold air mass is expected to be of polar origin and deeply rooted in various atmospheric layers, which increases the chance of hail showers and thunderstorms occurring during the low-pressure system's effect, especially on Sunday and Monday.
WASM issues an orange alert level regarding the weather conditions starting from Saturday evening until Tuesday, and recommends continuous monitoring of warnings from the Jordan Meteorology Department and guidance from Civil Defense and Public Security, and to stay away from flood areas and water accumulation areas.
