WASM – Jordan will be affected by dry conditions during the weekend and the beginning of next week coinciding with the appearance of medium and high clouds, which will result in limited thunderstorm rain showers and active to strong winds at times that stir dust during the night of Saturday/Sunday until Sunday evening across various regions of the Kingdom.
Jordan will be affected by dry southeast winds rushing from the Hail desert and Al-Jawf in the north of the Arabian Peninsula during the weekend causing high temperatures during the day and rapid cooling at night with a significant and sharp decrease in surface humidity levels and an increase in dust in the atmosphere, which increases the chances of allergic diseases.
Starting from Saturday, the upper and middle atmospheric layers will be affected by cold air currents resulting in increased medium and high clouds which are expected to be cumulus and thunderstorm clouds causing limited rain showers and active winds stirring dust and soil, but the weather condition is expected to be generally weak and rainfall will be in small and limited quantities and the main impact will be in the form of active dust-stirring winds and these weather conditions will continue until Sunday evening.
It is expected that cumulus thunderstorm clouds will begin to form at an altitude exceeding 3500 meters above sea level and this means that the bases of these clouds are far away causing large quantities of rain to evaporate before reaching the ground and this causes wind activity and dust stirring and limited and weak precipitation.
WASM will issue a yellow alert level due to active winds and limited thunderstorm rain showers that are expected to cause slips starting from Saturday evening until Sunday evening across various regions of Jordan.
