WASM- The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a "long" series of atmospheric depressions that are stronger and colder over the coming weeks, especially in the middle of the month and its final days, accompanied by heavy rainfall.
The Kingdom has been affected since the beginning of the rainy season by strong rainy conditions, some of which were unusual, causing widespread floods especially in central regions and the eastern desert area and parts of southern regions, resulting in clear losses and danger to lives. This is due to sharp climate changes that have become clear in recent years, causing a "significant" increase in rainfall rates in many areas of the Kingdom and wide areas of the Middle East.
Intensification of atmospheric depressions|
The WASM Regional Center is monitoring the intensification of atmospheric depressions over the coming weeks and the intensification of flood waves. A significant drop in temperatures is expected in the middle of the current month in many areas, and an improvement in the performance of the rainy season in the far north of the Kingdom.
Scattered rain at the end of the week and heavy rain in the middle of next week|
The Kingdom is affected by an atmospheric depression centered around the Cyprus Basin at the end of the week, causing scattered rainfall especially in the north and central regions of the Kingdom. This rainfall will be heavy at times in parts of the north and central regions during Friday evening and Friday/Saturday night.
Heavy rainfall will occur during next Monday as a result of another atmospheric depression that will be centered in the south of the Kingdom causing widespread heavy rainfall and floods especially in central regions and the eastern desert area.
High-impact atmospheric depression at the end of next week|
The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a high-impact atmospheric depression at the end of next week accompanied by a humid and severely cold Atlantic air mass that causes heavy precipitation in many areas for several days.
More depressions and extremely cold conditions after mid-month|
The Kingdom will be affected by other atmospheric depressions after mid-month with a noticeable drop in temperatures. These depressions will be accompanied by heavy precipitation and extremely cold weather conditions.
Scientific analysis|
This is due to an area of high atmospheric pressure in wide parts of southern, central and northeastern Europe. This atmospheric high is expected to intensify after mid-month to affect most areas of Europe, causing more atmospheric depressions.
The WASM Regional Center has exclusively monitored the recent strong weather conditions affecting the Kingdom which caused floods especially in central regions, the capital Amman, the eastern desert area and southern regions. An improvement in the seasonal rainfall performance is expected in the far north of the Kingdom with atmospheric depressions centered around the Cyprus Basin in the middle of the month.
Alerts|
The WASM Regional Center advises continuous monitoring of warnings from the Jordanian Meteorology Department over the coming days with the intensification of atmospheric depressions. Attention should also be paid to strong and repeated flood waves on the Kingdom which are expected to continue, and caution should be exercised regarding frost waves in the mountains and later freezing waves as weather becomes more severe after mid-month.
