Jordan | Early winter conditions with a stormy and heavy rainy weather system beginning Sunday evening

The Kingdom is affected by an unusual winter atmospheric depression compared to this time of year and occurring early, with a significant temperature drop on Sunday evening and stormy winds gusting at speeds exceeding 70-75 km/hour and more in some high mountains and exposed areas, and large amounts of rain will fall from Sunday evening until Tuesday morning of next week, with temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius in the capital and mountains.

Details..
The weather at the end of the week will be generally cold with light rain showers in the north of the Kingdom, and temperatures will rise slightly on Saturday before the onset of the "deep" atmospheric depression which approaches the impact of a "winter storm".

Starting from Sunday daytime, stormy winds will blow over the Kingdom stirring dense dust in desert areas, clouds will gradually increase during daylight hours and thunderstorms will fall in the north of the Kingdom extending to its center in the early evening period with heavy thunderstorms in the north and center of the Kingdom and parts of its northeast.

Rain will extend to the southwest of the country with stormy conditions during Sunday/Monday evening and night hours amid early cold and winter conditions.

Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, especially in high mountains and fall below 10 degrees Celsius amid strong winds and heavy and nearly continuous rainfall, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom.

The atmospheric depression is expected to affect the Gaza Strip with large amounts of rain, strong winds, and temperature drops.

Scientific Analysis..
This is due to the thrust of "cold polar winds" towards the eastern Mediterranean in an unusual manner compared to this time of year, which caused the formation of a deep atmospheric depression over the island of Cyprus coinciding with stormy winds and large amounts of rain in the eastern Mediterranean.

With the issuance of practical data related to eastern Mediterranean temperatures reaching 27 degrees Celsius, and the arrival of cold polar air towards eastern Mediterranean waters, which is expected to cause strong condensation of dense cumulus and thunderstorm clouds and their thrust towards the Levant, Palestine, and Jordan regions.

The arrival of cold polar air towards the eastern Mediterranean in November is a rare occurrence and does not repeat frequently, and it is a result of unusual atmospheric circulation that continues to cause unstable and extreme weather conditions in various regions of the world.
