Jordan: Heavy rain and snow on high mountains exceeding 1,000 meters tomorrow, Wednesday

WASM – The impact of the atmospheric low pressure system will intensify tonight and tomorrow Wednesday, with heavy precipitation expected in various regions in the form of snow on elevations exceeding 1000 meters above sea level, starting from Wednesday dawn and morning until the afternoon and evening periods.

Snow is expected to cover various high mountain peaks across the kingdom at elevations reaching 1000 meters above northern and central Jordan, but the snow level rises to 1200-1300 meters in southern regions due to the nature of polar air deepening.

Snow accumulations are expected to be generally light and limited across various high mountain peaks, with strong winds and extremely cold weather and temperatures close to zero Celsius in high mountains.

Weather will stabilize Wednesday evening as the weather condition recedes, but the weather will remain bitterly cold with freezing occurring and frost formation during Wednesday evening, while eastern winds will be active over the weekend with the continuation of a severe cold wave.

WASM issues a red alert level for weather conditions, especially in high mountains expected to witness snow precipitation exceeding 1000 meters above sea level.

WASM issues weather bulletins characterized by stability and minimal changes without any disruption due to its reliance on flexible and unique numerical model technology abbreviated as W.DMM technique, and WASM was able to determine weather conditions for an extended period exceeding one month using its advanced climate model developed within WASM.
