Jordan.. Heavy rainfall and cold polar winds at the end of the week

WASM – Jordan will be affected by a weather system at the end of the week and starting Thursday morning and early hours, coinciding with severe, extremely cold polar-origin winds resulting in heavy precipitation. The weather system is expected to continue for approximately 48 hours, preceded by slightly warm conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Heavy rains will fall during Thursday, with the deepening of the cold polar-origin winds during Thursday/Friday night, and the rain will gradually turn into snowfall in the high mountainous elevations. WASM will provide more details and the expected elevations where snow will fall over the next 48 hours accurately and consistently without any changes or confusion in weather bulletins through the use of flexible multiple computational model technology W.DMM.

This weather depression will also be accompanied by large and abundant amounts of precipitation, which will significantly improve the performance of the rainy season, especially in northern and central Jordan.

It is expected that the sequence of weather depressions will continue over the coming weeks with renewed chances of snowfall in many periods on mountainous areas, and WASM will continue to monitor the weather conditions and any changes that may occur to them continuously.

Weather systems that are accompanied by rapid-changing polar winds are considered to be usually accompanied by large amounts of precipitation, active winds, and severe cold weather.
