Jordan | Heavy rainfall from Wednesday through Friday with a warm spring wave next week

Alert - The Kingdom will be affected by a low-pressure system accompanied by an intensely cold polar wave starting late Tuesday/Wednesday night until Saturday dawn. Scattered rainfall is expected, particularly over the north and central regions and peaks of southern areas. These rains will intensify on Wednesday evening and Wednesday/Thursday night, becoming heavy with snow showers falling on high mountain peaks.

In detail, a cold frontal system of polar origin will push into the Kingdom late Tuesday/Wednesday night, with scattered thunderstorms occurring simultaneously with hail and active winds. These rains will intensify and become organized on Wednesday evening and Wednesday/Thursday night until Saturday dawn, becoming heavy with the formation of thunderstorms.

Thursday and Friday will see very cold and heavily rainy weather, particularly over the north and central regions, coinciding with thunderstorms and heavy hail falling. Snow will also fall on high mountain peaks with limited and temporary accumulation. Alert will issue a yellow alert level from Tuesday/Wednesday night through Wednesday daytime, escalating to orange from Wednesday evening until Saturday dawn.

The polar wave and low-pressure system will gradually recede on Saturday, with weather remaining cold and partly cloudy with light scattered rain showers in some areas. Temperatures will rise noticeably and significantly starting next Sunday as the country comes under the influence of a strong high-pressure system bringing warm spring conditions with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius.

Alert advises caution regarding weather conditions in the coming days and the dangers of flash floods and swept floods, heavy rainfall, and severe cold weather. It is also advised that farmers refrain from pruning plants and trees before Sunday, and atmospheric conditions will be suitable for agriculture and plant trimming during the coming week.
