WASM- The Kingdom is affected by a low-pressure system stationed near the island of Cyprus, accompanied by a very cold and humid air mass, which results in heavy rainfall at times and snow on the peaks of the southern mountains accumulating in some peaks coinciding with severe cold weather and active winds.
Rain falls at intervals, especially on the western mountains of the Kingdom, sometimes heavy and mixed with snow and hail, including the Amman areas and northern highlands, but it takes the form of snow on the peaks of the southern mountains.
Rain begins in the middle of tonight mixed with snow and hail on the peaks of Amman and Ajloun, and in the form of snow in the southern mountains, and continues until dawn and morning of Sunday.
The weather will be cold and partly cloudy on Sunday with scattered light rain in various areas of the Kingdom, and the weather will stabilize temporarily on Monday and during Tuesday before a new low-pressure system is expected.
The WSAM Regional Center issued the monthly bulletin for February 2022, which indicated the continuation of low-pressure systems and winter storms, especially in the second half of the month.
WSAM issues an orange alert level for weather conditions on Friday and Saturday due to heavy rainfall at times, active winds, cold weather, and snow falling on the southern mountains.
