WASM – Jordan is affected by a low pressure system accompanied by heavy rainfall starting from the night of Wednesday/Thursday and continuing until Saturday, affecting different regions of the kingdom including Aqaba city and desert areas. This low pressure system will be preceded by a rise in temperatures during the day on Wednesday.
The low pressure system will begin affecting Wednesday/Thursday night starting from the south of the kingdom and gradually extend to the rest of the regions as a result of the country being affected by a deep cold front with high effectiveness, resulting in the formation of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in all regions and the formation of extensive floods, especially in the south of the kingdom and the Aqaba region. WASM has issued a red alert level for the weather condition. The intensity of rainfall will decrease during the hours of Thursday/Friday night and will be concentrated in the north and center of Jordan in the form of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Gradually, the low pressure system will be located southeast of Jordan and the Jawf region on Friday, and the rainfall showers will renew during Friday daytime and evening and night hours with moderate intensity and occasional thunder.
The low pressure system will move away on Saturday and the chance of scattered rainfall will continue in different regions with moderate intensity coinciding with the formation of dense fog in high mountainous areas.
The weather will stabilize on Sunday and temperatures will rise gradually with humidity levels remaining high due to the expected rainfall covering most regions of the kingdom. Stable weather is expected to continue until February 10-12, then atmospheric low pressure activity will renew afterwards and with more strength after mid-month

WASM issues a red alert level for the southern regions of the kingdom on Thursday as a result of heavy rainfall and the formation of floods and thunderstorms, while the orange level is in the rest of the regions.
