WASM- Precipitation will intensify again tomorrow, Friday, especially in the morning hours and will be heavy and sometimes very heavy accompanied by thunderstorms and heavy hail fall and snow showers over high mountains exceeding 1000 meters, affecting northern and central regions of the kingdom and southern highlands coinciding with wind activity and severe cold weather.
In detail, the air depression is positioned today, Thursday, near the Lebanese coasts and is accompanied by heavy precipitation and thunder occurrence and heavy hail fall sometimes and wind activity and snow showers above 1000 meters accumulating slightly and temporarily.
The air depression will intensify further tomorrow, Friday, especially in the morning hours and precipitation will be very heavy sometimes leading to flash flood formation and flash floods in low-lying areas and snow showers above 1000 meters and thunderstorms occurring.
Weather will begin to stabilize gradually on Saturday and will remain cold and partly cloudy with scattered light rain showers falling and temperatures will rise slightly on Sunday in preparation for the spring warm wave.
The kingdom is expected to be affected during the coming week by a spring warm wave with pleasant conditions and temperatures at levels of 20 degrees Celsius following a long and harsh winter that was accompanied by very large quantities of precipitation especially in northern and central regions of the kingdom.
The WASM regional center is monitoring a Khamsin air depression that will be considered the first of this spring, expected to affect the end of next week and is a prelude to sharp atmospheric disturbances and fluctuations that will begin again thereafter.
