WASM – The atmosphere will be hot and humid tomorrow, Monday, and the heat wave will resume on Tuesday and continue for several days with temperatures remaining around 35-36 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman. The current heat wave is characterized by its long duration and varying intensity during its impact.
Humidity levels will be very high at times, especially in the western regions of Jordan, which increases the feeling of higher temperatures than those recorded, so the feeling of the atmosphere will not change much during the daytime of Sunday and Monday, and moderate weather will be felt only during the night and early morning in the mountainous areas.
Temperatures will rise slightly tomorrow, Monday, to record around 34-35 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman, then increase on Tuesday to exceed 35 degrees Celsius coinciding with the continuation of the high humidity wave.
High humidity levels cause increased sweating and an exhausting feeling in the hot atmosphere, with the apparent temperature expected to reach around 35-37 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman. It is recommended to wear light-colored clothing and not to set air conditioning devices at temperatures below 22-24 degrees Celsius.
It is expected that the hot atmosphere will continue with varying intensity during the coming period. WASM Regional Center is monitoring a significant intensification of the heat wave after August 17 and will issue all details during the coming period.
