Jordan | Intense heat conditions peak on Sunday and Monday

WASM - Tomorrow, Sunday, the weather will become intensely hot with temperatures rising to around 35 degrees Celsius in Amman city, and the weather will be extremely hot in low-lying areas and the Jordan Valley due to the kingdom being affected by a hot and dry air mass advancing from western Saudi Arabia coinciding with an extension of a deep atmospheric high pressure system from the east.

Temperatures will rise significantly on Monday with hot conditions reaching their peak, as temperatures approach 36-37 degrees Celsius in Amman city coinciding with active southern winds that stir up dust and the appearance of medium and high clouds.

Temperatures will drop noticeably on Tuesday and will tend to be slightly cooler during night hours due to the country being affected by moist westerly winds, coinciding with the appearance of clouds at different altitudes and light rain falling in limited areas.

The atmosphere will remain slightly hot during midday and afternoon periods and tend to be cooler during night hours until the end of this current week. TAG monitors the atmospheric disturbance shortly after the middle of the holy month where rain chances increase and temperatures drop to moderate spring averages.
