Jordan | Intense heat conditions to ease over the weekend and recede by next Monday

WASM – Temperatures will decrease noticeably during the weekend and become slightly above their seasonal averages, especially in the western regions of the Kingdom. Temperatures in the capital and surrounding mountains will reach around 32-35°C during the day, while the weather becomes moderate at night.

Northwest winds will blow actively across most regions of the Kingdom, stirring up dust and sand in desert areas, and reducing the intensity of heat especially during evening and night hours.

The impact of the hot air mass is concentrated over the eastern Badiya region and eastern central areas of the Kingdom including Zarqa and parts east of the capital, as well as some low-lying areas and the Jordan Valley. However, its impact remains minimal over wide areas of the high western highlands of the Kingdom due to the effect of northwest winds that confine the hot air mass to the eastern and east-central regions of the country, including parts east of the capital.

Temperature rise on Sunday and retreat of hot conditions on Monday and Tuesday..
Temperatures will rise temporarily on Sunday, then hot conditions will gradually recede on Monday with the effect starting from the western Kingdom and then extending to the rest of the regions. Temperatures in the capital and mountains will reach seasonal summer averages between 31-34°C during the day.

WASM advises staying away from direct sunlight, increasing intake of cold fluids, and following medical and health guidelines, as well as monitoring warnings from the Jordan Meteorology Department.
