Jordan | Intense heat wave continues through the weekend with "high" humidity and complete retreat next Monday

WASM - The "strong" heat wave continues its impact on the Kingdom for the seventh consecutive day, which began last Thursday. Temperatures have maintained levels around 40°C for several days across wide areas including the capital Amman. The highest temperature recorded in the capital at Amman Civil Airport Station reached 41.4°C, and this was exceeded in the lower areas of the capital, reaching 40°C in western Amman and 38°C in the high mountains, reflecting the severity of this heat wave.

Temperatures will continue at around 40°C until tomorrow, Thursday, then drop slightly starting Friday below 40°C by a small margin, but the weather will remain extremely uncomfortable, especially with an expected significant increase in humidity levels. Clouds will also appear at various altitudes, particularly at medium heights.

Temperatures will continue their slow and slight decline on Saturday and Sunday to reach around the mid-thirties Celsius in the capital and mountains, with the heat wave continuing, but the intensity of heat will ease and weather will become somewhat acceptable during nighttime hours.

Temperatures will drop significantly on Monday, especially in the evening and night hours, after which mild and slightly cool winds will blow during nighttime hours, bringing a significant and noticeable drop in temperatures.

It is expected that the number of days of the strong heat wave will reach approximately 11-12 consecutive days, classifying it as one of the worst and strongest heat waves in years.

It is expected that next month will be pleasantly autumnal, especially after the first week of September, with temperatures dropping further around the middle of next month, making the weather slightly cold, and rain is not ruled out in some areas, particularly in the northern regions of the Kingdom.
