WASM- The country has started to be affected by rainy conditions that concentrated today, Wednesday, in the eastern desert. It is expected that rainy conditions will concentrate over the coming days towards the central and northern regions of the Kingdom primarily and extend towards the eastern and northeastern areas.
The rainy conditions will peak on Saturday with the expectation of a cold, deep air front crossing through atmospheric layers during daytime, causing heavy thunderstorms in central Kingdom and the Dead Sea area extending towards its north and northeast.
It is expected that the impact of the condition will be less severe towards the southern regions of the country and the southwestern areas as well, which will be in the form of scattered thundershowers in non-comprehensive and dispersed ranges.
Thursday and Friday Days|
The weather condition will intensify and its impact will expand towards central and northern Kingdom and parts of western areas with concentration in those regions, while it continues in the eastern desert. Heavy thunderous rainfall showers are expected at intervals coinciding with hail accumulation at times and dust-raising wind activity.
Weather is expected to be severely turbulent on Friday with eastern winds stirring up dust and dirt active in the north, central and eastern Kingdom with thundercloud formation and heavy rainfall showers occurring from time to time as a result of an air depression forming to the north of Egypt.
Alert Level| Yellow rising to Orange on Friday due to dust and winds and heavy thunderous rainfall showers.
Flash Flood Possibility| Local in some areas.

The Kingdom will be affected by an air depression positioned off the coasts of Palestine accompanied by an active, cold air front deepening in atmospheric layers, leading to concentration of heavy precipitation especially on the western strip of the Kingdom and clearly towards central and northern Kingdom and the northeastern northern desert. Precipitation is expected to be heavy and thunderous with hail accumulation, with a high probability of flash flood formation in many areas.
The WASM Regional Center recommends monitoring warnings from the Jordanian Meteorology Department and guidance from Civil Defense, Public Security and keeping away from low-lying areas, valleys and water accumulation sites.
