WASM – Weather will turn significantly colder during tonight and tomorrow, Sunday, with low clouds gradually increasing and additional activity in eastern winds that will increase humidity tonight. This coincides with light scattered rainfall in limited areas in the form of rain showers in eastern Jordan.
The real temperature sensation will reach freezing point and temperatures will drop to around 4 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman. A gradual easing of the extremely cold weather is expected during Tuesday daytime.
Weak atmospheric disturbances are expected at the end of the week causing light rainfall, with increased chances of rain in the first days of January 2021.
The reason for these weather conditions is the rush of an extremely cold air mass coming from Siberia, but it is dry with low humidity, coinciding with high atmospheric pressure over Iraq and northern Saudi Arabia and its decrease toward the Mediterranean Sea. This causes a sharp difference in surface atmospheric pressure values and the surge of eastern winds with force.
