WASM- The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a low-pressure system centered over the island of Cyprus, beginning gradually on Saturday evening and continuing until Tuesday morning, accompanied by heavy rainfall at intervals, severely cold weather, and active wind speeds.
In detail, the weather tomorrow, Saturday, will be partly cloudy and cold with scattered rain showers during daytime hours in the western part of the Kingdom. Rainfall will become heavy later in the evening and night hours, especially in the central and northern parts of the Kingdom, as the low-pressure system forms south of Cyprus.
Sunday's weather will be cold, cloudy, and rainy at intervals, especially in the north and central parts of the Kingdom. Gradually, the chances of rain will decrease during afternoon hours due to the formation of a highly effective cold air front of polar origin in the eastern Mediterranean.
Heavy rainfall will fall in "all" regions of the Kingdom, including desert areas, during Sunday evening and the night of Sunday/Monday, continuing almost continuously until Monday/Tuesday night due to the stationing of the low-pressure system over southern Lebanon.
Rainfall will be more intense in central and southern Jordan on Monday, mixed at times with hail showers due to cold air throughout various atmospheric layers.
Weather will gradually stabilize on Tuesday, with chances of rain showers mixed with hail continuing in the highlands of southern Kingdom, and frost is expected to form during the night of Tuesday/Wednesday in high mountains.
Weather will stabilize "temporarily" on Wednesday and Thursday with a slight temperature rise, before expecting a renewal of rainy conditions and colder weather during the New Year and beginning of the new year, as the WASM regional center is monitoring a "severely cold" polar air mass stationed in western Siberia and the north of the Black Sea, coinciding with the presence of a strong high-pressure system in most parts of the European continent and North Africa.
WASM issues an orange alert level for weather conditions, which reaches red in the highlands of southern Kingdom due to topography and heavy precipitation, as flash floods are easily formed.
