Jordan | Low pressure system with rain showers mixed with snow starting from Wednesday/Thursday night through Thursday evening

WASM - The Kingdom is affected by a low-pressure system accompanied by extremely cold polar winds beginning from the early hours of Wednesday/Thursday night until Thursday evening, resulting in heavy rain showers sometimes mixed with hail and snow showers on the peaks of high mountains, but without affecting general life patterns, especially during the dawn and morning hours of Thursday.

Snow showers are expected above elevations of 1300-1400 meters on the high southern mountains, particularly the peaks of Shoubak and Tafila during the dawn and morning hours of Thursday, accumulating in small and limited amounts.

Winds will be moderate in speed overall but extremely cold, and precipitation is characterized by its irregularity, which will be scattered but intense and for short periods, during which thunder and lightning are expected to occur.

Weather is expected to gradually stabilize during Thursday evening, but it will be "extremely cold," and temperatures will rise on Friday, becoming warm and pleasant spring weather on Saturday, suitable for outdoor trips.

The WASM Regional Center is monitoring stronger low-pressure systems at the end of next week and will issue all reports and updates regarding upcoming weather conditions.

March is characterized by rapid fluctuations and changes in weather conditions over short periods, intense precipitation, and strong winds due to significant temperature differences that may occur in short timeframes. Therefore, it is always recommended to follow weather bulletins before going out to enjoy the beautiful spring weather.
Despite the irregularity of precipitation between the early hours of Wednesday/Thursday night until Thursday evening, which is expected to fall in a scattered and irregular manner and be intense when it occurs, the weather condition is a "low-pressure system" and not "atmospheric instability." Whether precipitation is regular or not depends on many factors, and these are among the common misconceptions that the WASM Regional Center continues to address.
