Jordan will be affected by a low-pressure system accompanied by rainy and cold conditions starting from late tonight over the northern regions, then extending in the early morning and throughout Wednesday morning towards central Jordan, and starting from Wednesday afternoon and evening it will extend to reach the south. The impact of the low-pressure system will continue until Friday dawn for more than 48 hours accompanied by rain and cold weather across various regions.
The rains overall are moderate in intensity sometimes accompanied by active winds and low clouds touching high mountains which lead to a significant decrease in horizontal visibility range.
Weather will stabilize on Friday but with a significant drop in temperatures as a result of Jordan being affected by winds surging from Siberian regions and cold weather will intensify on Saturday especially with expected significant wind activity.
A new low-pressure system will form north of Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening bringing increasing activity on very cold southeasterly winds towards Jordan coinciding with increasing low clouds and light rain falling across various regions of Jordan on Sunday.
WASM is monitoring the continuation of very cold weather and renewal of rainy and very cold weather conditions during the last days of December and the beginning of January.
