WASM – The mild summer weather conditions affecting the Kingdom continue, with temperatures remaining in the upper twenties Celsius in the capital and mountains with lows below 18 Celsius, and conditions becoming hot in desert areas, lowlands, and Aqaba during the day but with less intensity than the seasonal average.
Temperatures will be below seasonal averages by around two to three Celsius degrees in various regions, particularly in the western areas of the Kingdom.
Moderate temperatures during the day and slightly cool at night..
Heat will return to below its summer seasonal averages, with the capital and mountains recording around 29 Celsius during the day and 17-18 Celsius at night amid active northwesterly winds, and conditions will remain hot in low-lying, desert, and lowland areas but less so than the seasonal average.
Slight and temporary rise in temperature on Thursday in preparation for a pleasant heat mass
Temperatures will rise temporarily on Thursday slightly and will be imperceptible in some high mountainous areas, due to the approach of a more moderate air mass with spring-like tendencies at the end of this week and the beginning of next week, causing temperatures to drop to the mid-twenties Celsius in the mountains and capital and below 15 Celsius at night amid noticeable and unseasonable cold.
Heat waves moving towards Europe..
A decrease in temperature and moderation of conditions has been observed in recent days amid continuous temperature decline, which is due to heat waves moving away from the Kingdom and concentrating over eastern, central, and southern Europe, noting that these heat waves will intensify and expand over Europe during next week.
The Kingdom will remain distant from heat waves during the coming period, with mild summer weather conditions dominating most days to normal conditions on other days, with temperatures around to below their seasonal averages.
Early hot periods do not mean a very hot summer, as more intense heat waves occurred at the beginning of summer 2019 and 2020 and were characterized by comprehensiveness, continuity, and strength unlike the hot periods that occurred in June which lacked comprehensiveness and continuity.
WASM Regional Center issued previous studies in 2019 that proved that heat waves in Jordan will become more intense and frequent in the future coinciding with significant rainfall rates and continuous weather disturbances as a result of climate change.
