Jordan | Moderate summer conditions continue until the beginning of next week

Moderate summer conditions continue in the mountains and plains until the beginning of next week coinciding with the activity of northwesterly winds causing dust in desert areas, and humidity levels are expected to rise especially during evening hours and until morning.

Temperature levels are expected to remain in the twenties Celsius in the mountains up to the early thirties Celsius in the plains and lower elevated areas, while it will be cooler than usual in the Jordan Valley, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea.

Weather conditions are expected to cool down at night in the mountains and plains with temperatures around 17 Celsius accompanied by an increase in surface humidity levels.

Strong heat waves continue periodically in Europe|
Strong heat waves continue in Europe periodically over the coming few weeks, and SESM's regional center is monitoring the impact of a new and strong heat wave heading towards Europe during the second week of this month, which is expected to last longer and affect central European regions and southwestern parts of it, leading to the continued push of moderate winds toward the eastern Mediterranean periodically.

It is noted that a rise in temperatures for short and limited periods is expected during the coming period over Jordan and East Mediterranean countries, before renewed moderate wind activity resumes.

Jordan and East Mediterranean still experiencing a shy summer|
East Mediterranean regions are still experiencing a shy summer and although we are approaching the hottest period of the year, which is the period extending from mid-July to mid-August, this does not mean there will be no heat waves.

In years like these, the chances of heat waves increase during late summer, specifically around mid-August, and the Kingdom and East Mediterranean countries remain at least free from the impact of heat waves during the near and medium term.
