Jordan | Monthly Bulletin for December - Successive rainy and cold weather systems

WASMWEATHER - The WASMWEATHER Regional Center is issuing the monthly weather bulletin for December 2021, based on the advanced climate model developed within WASMWEATHER, which is characterized by high accuracy in monitoring weather conditions. The model successfully tracked weather systems during November with high precision.

The coming month is expected to be cold and rainy, with continuous weather systems expected, particularly in the second half of the month. Strong weather conditions are anticipated in mid-month as well as at month's end.

Increased chances of snowfall are expected at the end of the month in high mountain areas. WASMWEATHER Regional Center will issue detailed forecasts as weather systems approach. These forecasts are outputs from the climate model developed by WASMWEATHER Center, which show only general indicators rather than detailed forecasts.

Detailed expected weather conditions..

- From 1st to 12th of the month .. Cold and occasionally rainy conditions, with scattered cases of moderate intensity and occasional heavy rainfall cannot be ruled out (Yellow Level)
- From 14th to 18th of the month.. Low pressure system and cold air mass accompanied by heavy precipitation and possible snow showers (Orange Level)
- From 22nd to 26th of the month.. Scattered thunderstorms (Orange Level)
- From 30th of the month through the beginning of month 1 and during New Year. Expected polar wave and increased chances of snowfall (Red Level).

The previous month (November) experienced stable conditions on most days, as clarified in the previous monthly bulletin. Heavy rainfall occurred after mid-month, which significantly improved conditions in many areas. The rainfall covered wide areas of the Kingdom, which is considered typical and is characteristic of autumn rainfall.

This bulletin represents expected weather conditions based on the statistical climate model. As the time period approaches, weather details become clearer and the W.DMM technology, which WASMWEATHER Regional Center has developed, is activated to clarify weather conditions details, intensity, and whether they match the outputs of WASMWEATHER's climate model.

WASMWEATHER Regional Center denies that the Kingdom is affected by rainfall disruption or suppression, as this season is considered normal up to this point. The Kingdom is still at the beginning of the rainy season so far. Jordan experienced the strongest rainy seasons between 2018 and 2020, with rainfall amounts reaching 200% of typical rainy season performance. An increase in rainfall amounts has been observed in recent years, coinciding with rising temperatures as a result of climate change.
