WASM - The WASM Regional Center issues the monthly bulletin for the blessed month of Ramadan based on data from the climate model developed by WASM, the only one of its kind in the Arab region and dedicated to long-range forecasts. The data obtained from its main run in cycle 27-February-2025 indicates forecasts of several rainy conditions concentrated mainly during the second half of the blessed month with expectations of late and severe cold during the last week of the month.
The First Week of the Month|
Weather will be significantly disturbed during the middle and end of the first week of the blessed month with large amounts of rain falling in most areas, including desert regions. The chances of floods and transported floods increase during this period, which necessitates attention to warnings issued by the Jordanian Meteorology Department.
The Second Week of the Month|
Temperatures will rise noticeably and the feeling will be closer to spring, but this will be temporary. Temperatures are expected to reach the twenties for the first time in many weeks in most areas. Weather will tend to become gradually disturbed during the end of the second week with the expected approach of an early Khamsin low-pressure system, or at least possessing some Khamsin characteristics.
The Third Week of the Month|
Atmospheric disturbances return noticeably and sharply, with increased chances of thunderstorms in various regions and their intensity is not ruled out, especially during the middle of this week.
The Fourth Week of the Blessed Month and its Final Days|
Very cold and unseasonably late weather conditions are expected to affect the Kingdom's atmosphere and the eastern Mediterranean region, leading to a drop in temperatures to severely cold winter levels during some periods and an increase in the chances of heavy rainfall in many areas.
Preliminary data indicates the continuation of cold weather during the Eid period but with less intensity compared to the fourth week of the blessed month.
Atmospheric Pattern (For Specialists) |
The European continent, especially the central and northern parts, is expected to be affected by a strong atmospheric high, which deepens during the second half of the blessed month. At the same time, early activity of Khamsin lows pushing from North Africa is expected, and we may witness the first Khamsin atmospheric low during the middle of Ramadan, which increases the chances of sharp atmospheric disturbances.
Due to this atmospheric system, atmospheric disturbances and rainy conditions will continue in the eastern Mediterranean region and the Levant during Ramadan. With atmospheric pressure rising significantly over central and northern Europe, this is expected to cause a sharp and severe polar wave toward eastern Europe, Turkey, and even the eastern Mediterranean region during the last week of the blessed month.
The WASM Regional Center's climate model data cannot detect the precise details of the polar wave's impact during the last week of the blessed month, but it will lead to a high probability of heavy rainfall and very cold, unseasonable weather.
The WASM Regional Center's climate model data shows a renewal of rainy conditions clearly during April, which is a result of the intensification of the seasonal climate transition phenomenon.
