Jordan | Monthly Report for June 2023.. Continuation of Unseasonable Weather Fluctuations at Scattered Intervals

WASM – The WASM Regional Center issues its monthly bulletin for June 2023, using its unique high-precision climate model in the Arab region, which has been able to detect the extreme weather condition that occurred a few days ago in Jordan.

In detail, it is expected that unusual weather fluctuations of rare and possibly unprecedented occurrence in modern climate records will continue in various regions of the Kingdom during the coming month. Despite expectations of improved temperatures and their rise compared to the previous period, weather fluctuations will continue, especially during the mid-month period and the last days of the month as well.

In detail..
From 1-10 June.. Temperature fluctuations and rise towards the end of the period, with light rain showers expected.
11 and 12 June. Significant rise in temperatures and the beginning of unusual atmospheric disturbances later on.
From 13 to 19 June. Increased chances of rain and unusual seasonal weather fluctuations in various regions of the Kingdom.
From 20-23 of the month.. Spring-like weather and temperatures below their seasonal averages.
From 24-30 of the month. Temperature variation and renewed chances of rain showers during the end of the month.

As a result of the continuation of weather fluctuations, especially around the mid-month period in many regions, WASM recommends continuous monitoring of warnings from the Jordanian Meteorological Department and guidelines from the Civil Defense and General Security, and attention and caution regarding "low-accuracy" weather bulletins issued through some local media outlets, which have caused significant losses from the recent harsh weather conditions.

The reason for these unusual weather fluctuations and their continued impact during the summer season is due to unusual atmospheric circulation and exceptional unprecedented climatic conditions, which have caused major disruption to the movement of seasonal winds in the Arabian Sea region and the deviation of part of them towards the Arabian Peninsula, Egypt, and the Mediterranean Sea.
