Jordan | Noticeable drop in temperatures over the weekend and near-autumn conditions expected next week

WASM – Temperatures will drop "noticeably" over the weekend and fall below their seasonal averages by several degrees Celsius, with this decline intensifying during the middle of next week as a moderately warm air mass advances from northeastern Europe towards a wide range of the Mediterranean region and reaching the Kingdom.

Temperatures decline on Friday gradually.. and slightly cold nights in the mountains..
Temperatures will drop noticeably on Friday and gradually, starting from the western parts of the Kingdom and extending during the evening and night towards other regions, which will result in slightly cold temperatures during the night and early morning in the mountains reaching around 17 degrees Celsius, with the appearance of low clouds and limited chances of light rainfall in the northern parts of the Kingdom on Saturday.

Further temperature decline mid-next week..
The Kingdom will be directly affected by the moderately warm air mass advancing directly from northeastern Europe towards the Mediterranean region, causing a continuous drop in temperatures to reach around the mid-twenties in the capital and mountains during the day and approaching 15 degrees Celsius at night, with the atmosphere remaining hot in low-lying areas, valleys, the Dead Sea and Aqaba during the day but less than usual, and becoming moderate during the night and morning. This decline will be followed by a temporary and slight rise in temperatures due to the approach and renewal of moderate winds advancing towards the Kingdom.

Temperature decline returns in the last days of August and early September..
As a result of the continued advance of moderate winds towards the Mediterranean, this advancement concentrates towards the eastern Mediterranean basin during the end of August, therefore temperatures will rise slightly, limitedly and temporarily, then drop noticeably during the end of next week, with the atmosphere becoming closer to autumn-like conditions with the possibility of rainfall, especially in the northern parts of the Kingdom, and these early autumn weather conditions are expected to persist for an extended period.

Weather fluctuations after mid-September..
With the continued moderation of conditions during the coming period, early weather fluctuations are expected to increase after mid-month in the central and eastern Mediterranean region, which may be severe in some parts of the central and eastern Mediterranean, and more details will be issued as they develop.
