Jordan | Noticeable temperature drop tomorrow Friday with temperatures rising again mid-next week

WASM - Temperatures will drop noticeably tomorrow, Friday, and this decline will increase on Saturday, with temperatures returning to clearly below seasonal averages, accompanied by a return to cold weather sensations during nighttime and morning hours in mountainous areas.

Additionally, cloud cover will increase at various altitudes from Friday through Sunday, coinciding with scattered rain showers* in some areas, particularly in the northern regions of the country, along with active westerly winds. The maximum temperature in the capital and surrounding mountains will reach around 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 11 degrees Celsius only on Saturday.

A rise in temperatures is expected beginning Monday and will increase further on next Tuesday, with hot weather returning across various regions. However, temperatures are expected to drop significantly by the end of next week.

WASM Regional Center is monitoring "sharp" atmospheric fluctuations at the end of May, which are expected to result in rainfall in numerous areas and temperature variations. It should be noted that May's rainfall average does not exceed 1-2% of the complete seasonal average.

The Kingdom has exceeded its complete seasonal rainfall average in many regions by approximately 40%. Over the past 9 years, the Kingdom has recorded 7 strong rainy seasons as a result of sharp climate changes that caused a significant increase in rainfall rates in Jordan and across a wide range of the Middle East. Contrary to what is circulated in local media outlets, which severely suffer from poor accuracy in weather bulletins and have caused major losses across various state sectors in recent years, WASM always recommends relying on weather bulletins issued by the Jordanian Meteorological Department and following the warning levels they issue, while monitoring the alert levels released by WASM Regional Center.

* Rain showers are rainfall that occurs in specific areas over a small geographic range for a short period and are usually not impactful.
