WASM – Jordan will be affected tomorrow, Friday, by a deep and highly active atmospheric low pressure system accompanied by heavy rainfall mixed with snow, hail precipitation, and strong winds. Snow showers will also fall over high mountain peaks exceeding 1000-1050 meters above sea level in scattered periods with slight, limited, and temporary accumulations. These slight accumulations occur especially in the southern mountains of the Kingdom.
Wind speeds are expected to reach 50 km/hour with gusts exceeding 70 km/hour, raising dust in desert areas leading to a lack of horizontal visibility. Dense fog is also expected to form in high mountains, especially during the evening hours of Friday.
The deep atmospheric low pressure system will continue to affect Jordan until dawn on Saturday, with its effects gradually declining during Saturday daytime, after which weather conditions will stabilize. The service advises full alertness regarding weather conditions and staying away from low-lying areas, valleys, and the Dead Sea due to the formation of flash floods and transported floods.
