WASM – Temperatures will remain below seasonal summer averages with pleasant summer weather until at least the middle of next week due to the Kingdom being affected by moderately warm winds in the lower and surface atmospheric layers.
It is expected that a moderately warm air mass will advance across various atmospheric layers toward the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea, the Levant, and Jordan at the beginning and middle of next week, resulting in an additional slight decrease in temperatures, with an increase in low clouds and thunderstorm showers expected in the northwest of the Kingdom on Monday next week.
WASM advises caution regarding mild cold weather during the night and early morning in the mountains and the capital, and recommends wearing a light jacket, especially for children and the elderly.
Temperatures will be below seasonal averages by about 3-4 degrees Celsius as a result of moderately warm winds dominating the Kingdom, coming from the north of the European continent.
Heat rise at the end of next week..
Temperatures will rise at the end of next week, making the weather generally hot and summer-like, especially during the day while remaining moderate at night and in the morning, and temperatures will reach their highest seasonal levels for the first time during this summer, with this hot period expected to continue for several days before a significant drop in temperatures is anticipated after the 19th-20th of the current month. This summer hot period is not expected to escalate into a strong heat wave.
It is expected that the temperature rise will be concentrated in the eastern desert region of the Kingdom and east of the central areas mainly, while the western regions will remain less affected due to the continued influence of westerly winds.
Large areas of North Africa including Algeria and Tunisia as well as central and southern Europe are experiencing an unusual, severe, and prolonged heat wave, which is expected to cause temperatures to reach around 50 degrees Celsius and may be unprecedented in some areas and cities, attributed to the presence of a deep and strong high-pressure system over those regions, which causes moderately warm air masses to advance toward the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea and the Levant region.
Jordan | Pleasant summer conditions continue until mid-next week
