Jordan | Rainy season continues.. Late, cold, semi-winter conditions with occasional rain at the beginning of next week

WASM – Rainfall will resume but in an almost winter-like and cold manner at the beginning of next week, especially from Sunday/Monday night until Monday evening, particularly affecting northern and central parts of the kingdom and the southwestern section of the country. This is due to an expected semi-winter low-pressure system that will be positioned around the Cyprus basin and will result in sometimes thunderous rainfall, but given the nature of the situation, it is not expected to be dangerous or cause very large amounts in short periods.

Slightly cold spring conditions in the mountains at the end of the week..
Conditions will be slightly cold and spring-like at the end of the week with partial cloud cover, and temperatures will approach 12 degrees Celsius at night in the mountains and the capital amidst foggy conditions in the morning over high mountains.

Semi-winter conditions with occasional rainfall and cold weather beginning Sunday/Monday night..
A low-pressure system will be positioned over the Cyprus island in an unusual seasonal manner, and rainfall will fall in northern parts of the kingdom extending during Monday morning towards central regions, including some southwestern areas with scattered and heavy rainfall at times, but it is not expected to pose significant risks to affected areas.

Continuation of weather disturbances during May..
As a result of continued high atmospheric pressure over Europe and North Africa and the activity of tropical waves close to the region, weather disturbances are expected to continue and rainy conditions will recur from time to time until a late period of early summer.

The region was affected by rare and strong rainy conditions..
These weather conditions extended from the Levant in the north and Jordan to the Sultanate of Oman in the south passing through most countries in the region, and numerous areas recorded record-breaking large amounts of rainfall and formed widespread flash floods as is clearly evident from the latest satellite imagery.
