WASM-
The Kingdom will continue to be affected by a low-pressure system that will be stationed over northern Lebanon on Monday and Tuesday, accompanied by a very cold air mass with high humidity and coinciding with active westerly to northwesterly winds.
Scattered rain is expected on Monday in the western regions of the Kingdom, intensifying and becoming heavy at times during Monday/Tuesday night and until Tuesday morning. It is not ruled out that the rain will be mixed with melting winter precipitation in the high mountains of southern Kingdom, especially from dawn until Tuesday noon hours.
Scattered rain on Monday|
The weather will be very cold, humid, and occasionally foggy and cloudy with scattered rain in the western Kingdom, with winds intensifying coinciding with occasional stormy gusts during midday and afternoon hours.
Rain intensification from Monday/Tuesday night through Tuesday daytime|
The low-pressure system will deepen over northern Lebanon accompanied by a very cold air mass with high humidity, and rain will recur in various western regions of the Kingdom starting from the north of the country during night hours, gradually extending toward central Kingdom and then southwestern regions. Its effects will also reach the northeastern desert in the form of rain showers.
Gradual decline in the intensity of the low-pressure system on Tuesday|
Chances of scattered rain remain Tuesday morning in the western regions of the Kingdom. The low-pressure system's impact will gradually weaken after Tuesday afternoon and clouds will gradually decrease. The weather will become very cold during the night, with possible frost in the peaks of high mountains in the southern Kingdom highlands and parts of the eastern desert.
Remnants of the air mass on Wednesday and Thursday|
The Kingdom will be affected by westerly humid and cold to very cold winds in the mountains on Wednesday and Thursday, so the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with chances of rain showers, especially in the northern and central Kingdom.
Monitoring a "heavily rainy" low-pressure system next week|
WASM Regional Center is monitoring a heavily rainy low-pressure system during the coming week, as a result of expectations of a very cold air mass surge from northern Europe toward the eastern Mediterranean directly. Details will be issued progressively.
A very cold air mass surged from northern Europe then the eastern Mediterranean and is characterized by humidity and coldness as well, coinciding with scattered rain that may be heavy during some brief periods, especially Monday/Tuesday night. There is no truth to any report suggesting dryness of the cold air mass or its surge from dry continental areas, which recently spread on social media pages.
