WASM - A significant and noticeable drop in temperatures is expected during the weekend as the strong heat wave recedes from Jordan and temperatures in Amman decrease to 33-34 degrees Celsius on Saturday with twenties levels in the high mountains.
The strong heat wave begins to recede starting from the late hours of Thursday/Friday night and Friday across different regions beginning with the high mountainous areas and gradually extending to cover different regions during the dawn and daytime hours of Friday coinciding with the activity of north-westerly winds stirring dust in desert areas.
Today, Thursday will be generally hot across different regions but coinciding with the onset of active westerly winds raising dust in desert areas and forming thunderclouds especially in the eastern regions and Badiya.
The temperature decrease will intensify during the beginning and middle of next week as a result of Jordan being affected by moderately warm winds driven from the Mediterranean Sea and southern Europe.
WASM is monitoring a significant and new drop in temperatures starting from the end of next week which will be considered the first breezes of autumn after a long, exhausting, and hot summer.
