Jordan | Significant Temperature Drop in Coming Days with Spring-like Conditions

WASM – Temperatures will drop significantly and become noticeably below their seasonal averages. The weather will be a mild and slightly cold spring season during the night in the capital and mountainous areas, with low clouds appearing.

Temperatures are expected to drop at night and in the morning in the capital and mountains to around 12 degrees Celsius during the coming days, amid the presence of low clouds, high humidity levels, and occasional activity of westerly winds.

Light scattered and limited rainfall will fall, especially in the western part of the country, specifically in the northwestern parts of the kingdom, including parts of the Irbid region, Ajloun, and west of Jerash, and scattered areas of the Balqa highlands. It is not expected to be significant or important.

The kingdom witnessed an unprecedented succession of summer rainfall during the previous days, which caused floods and torrents in many areas and constituted more than 20-30% of the rainy season in some areas. These summer rains are expected to continue during the coming weeks but in a scattered manner, with increased chances toward the end of summer and the beginning of autumn again.

The WASM Regional Center is monitoring exceptional climatic conditions that will affect the world during the coming season, which is expected to result in a strong rainy season over a wide range of the Middle East and Jordan. More details will be issued through the climate model of the WASM Regional Center, the only one of its kind in the Arab region.
