The heat wave recedes "slightly" on Sunday and Monday, especially in northern Jordan, while hot weather continues generally across different regions, intensifying noticeably on Tuesday and continuing for several "long" days, with its severe impact remaining in the southern Jordan Valley, desert areas, and southern regions of the Kingdom.
Humidity levels are expected to rise noticeably mid-next week coinciding with the continuation of the heat wave, which increases the feeling of temperatures higher than recorded.
It is expected that the feeling of the heat wave's retreat will be noticeable during the evening and night, and the feeling will not change much during daytime hours due to the continued high temperatures.
Temperatures are expected to remain around 37-38 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman on Saturday, dropping slightly on Sunday and Monday to around 34-35 degrees Celsius, then rising noticeably and stabilizing around 37 degrees Celsius starting next Tuesday and for several days coinciding with increased humidity, while temperatures remain very high in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, registering around 45 degrees Celsius.
Jordan has been affected for the eighth consecutive day by a prolonged heat wave, with severe impacts in the Jordan Valley, where temperatures in the Zarqa Valley reached around 47.3 degrees Celsius on Thursday while around 37 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman.
The heat wave surged from the deserts of North Africa and northern Saudi Arabia during the previous days, with its path changing slightly mid-next week to sometimes advance through the eastern Mediterranean region, which is affected by high and unusual temperatures, which will raise humidity levels.
